Top Attractions

Singapore is roughly 50 km east–west. Most visitors stay in or near the Downtown Core, Marina Bay, Orchard, or Bugis and day-trip to Sentosa or the zoo. What follows matches how people actually move between sights on the MRT and on foot.

Marina Bay

Marina Bay Sands (hotel, shops, casino, convention centre) and the lotus-shaped ArtScience Museum sit on one side of the bay; the Esplanade theatres and Merlion Park are a short walk away across Jubilee Bridge or along the waterfront.

Evening light and water shows are staged at the bay and at MBS; names and times change—check the Marina Bay Sands and Visit Singapore calendars before you go. Weekends and public holidays draw large crowds; arrive 20–30 minutes early if you want a clear view.

Nearest MRT stops: Bayfront (DT16 / CE1), Downtown (DT17), or Raffles Place (EW14 / NS26), then walk. The walk from Bayfront to Gardens by the Bay is about 5–10 minutes via the underground link or waterfront path.

Managed by the National Parks Board, the site is split into Bay South (Supertrees, conservatories), Bay East (long skyline views, popular with runners), and Bay Central (connector to the waterfront promenade). The cooled Flower Dome and Cloud Forest are ticketed; many outdoor lawns are free.

Visitor details

Sentosa Island

Sentosa is linked to the mainland by causeway, boardwalk, cable car, and monorail. Most visitors start at HarbourFront MRT (NE1 / CC29), enter through VivoCity, then take the Sentosa Express from Level 3 or walk the Sentosa Boardwalk. Island admission and express fares are published by the operator—confirm the latest rules before travel.

Siloso Beach on Sentosa

Siloso is the busiest of Sentosa’s three main beaches; Palawan has the suspension bridge to a small islet.

Neighbourhoods worth half a day

These are real districts, not theme parks—go for food, temples, and architecture.
